Chapters

I went to Chapters

today

I always go to Chapters

today

sometimes I am

alone

sometimes I am not

alone

always I go knowing

I will not go buy a book

maybe

but in Chapters

today

I picked up something lighter than air

and bought it

to take home and

make part of my world

I picked it up

because it was lighter than air

but the laugh that it gave me

was heavier than life

and I need that

so I held it

Picked up “Helium” by Rudy Francisco

and didn’t put it back down

“Welcome” holds the line with the laugh
