Clash of Titans

no one got what they wanted that day

hope died on a bed of conflicting dreams

joy clashed against joy

both died

on all sides they died

glory stepped aside for mediocrity

still waters cloaked raging turmoil

that day continued, differently

'is' far removed from 'could have been'

tears erode the pathway

what will be, only grace or grief will tell
