I wrote a poem once (or twice) that was denounced

as bad, poorly written, derivative, terrible and

any other epithet they’d think to pound

violent into my ego’s variable shell

but discussing points theological found

I was less offender than offended and stunned

by their silence kept becoming what God pronounced
