Memories of Older Days

for the reminder of how wonderful it was

to sit, back against the bed, and enjoy

rock was young(er) then

fresh, not yet tired out

bending the ear with

exciting guitar riffs

exuberant drumming

enthusiastic lyrics

the sounds of which

to a late teen/early adult

sitting, his back against the bed

a flip every twenty-two minutes

(not stacking, NEVER stacking)

on a quiet weekend afternoon

meant more than words can tell
