that they lead where we want to go

how can we claim glory and freedom

who deny our babes these very gifts

how futile we brag to stand on guard

who have no care to guard our own

how dare we ask God for blessing

who stand devoted to destruction

“LORD, have mercy!” our better plea

and fall no further than on His grace
