Personal Glory

I see what you've done and think

"I could do/have done better"

fighting the urge to barge on in

usurp your celebrative "Wow!"

detour your glory into my own

but I don't

I'd like to be a better man than that

but I'm not

maybe I hope the gracious God will see

take pleasure in my faltering good

and bless

and perhaps not

but if this and nothing else

I have at least not harmed a friend
