April 1986
shame now too near a companion
grief now too familiar a friend
my world, for a time knocked off its spin wildly falling to oblivion
your nearness was all I craved your nearness was all I missed
love wrath envy
all have had their day
but now the wrath is gone I pray the envy too so only love remains in this hollow shell of me
the pride and the glory replaced by shame and grief a bitter trial of growing I pray I now have passed
