Sunlight

sunlight, in three acts

plus one

surround a working dad

three, behind, before the sun

light streaming through

glorious in the burgeoning spring

where the dog likes, as flowers,

to follow the light through the day

one, in and out as a playful breeze

dressed as Mary, then not,

cavorting before a mirror

with sudden, instant, naps upon my bed

a smiling face to daddy’s silence

exultant to his laughter

my little girl makes my day
