The Bible is Hard

The Bible is hard

some say

as though God has made dark

His gracious Gospel of Light

But that cannot be

God is not both gracious

and obscure

A grace undiscovered

is no grace at all

it is confusion and darkness

which have not grace's power

The Bible is easy

If God truly loves us

if God truly wants us to live

it must be

it has to be

The Bible only becomes hard

as it crashes upon our opinion

On reading various treatments of Hebrews 6

and the twisting that must be done to make it fit

where some would wish to squeeze it
