what if they gave a newscast

and no body cared to watch

what if all the sensationalized sound bites

fell not on any hearing ear

but wandered away a aimlessly

searching for some to inform

what if all the ceaseless drivel

that permeates our day

were ignored for life, what then

what if no one wished to be informed

of scandals beyond our sphere

what if all our news were seen

in truth for what it was

would gossip fade away

replaced instead by life
