death is not the master

death cannot hold sway

where life was

life will be

a higher power holds the strings

a greater love still lives

joy and pain roommates aren’t

joy and love go hand in hand

a larger, tender hand

sustains what once was lost

life goes on

in face of death

forgiveness, found and freed

death cannot live

in love’s return
