On Fighting Temptation

could I become

and honourable man

now

in this life

this body

could the beasts that plague

this fragile skin

be overthrown

by this skin

to save the soul within

without God

this body lives its vibrant life

but once

then to become as dust

its desires

its struggles

its needs

its pains

all pass

the soul it cannot save

it cannot save itself

could I become

an honourable man

now

in this life

this body

yes

by grace of God

alone
