PRAYER LIST

On this page I will (try) to maintain a list of items that visitors to this website might want to pray about. These items will express more of a global focus than personal and hopefully will open our eyes to the needs of Christians around the world. As I will try to update this page on a fairly regular basis, changes made here will not always appear on the What's New? page.

October 12, 2011 ~ Last week Stephen Jobs died and people the world over took notice and commented on his achievements and how he changed the face of technology and how we live our lives. No doubt much of this praise is true but there's something very important missing from all the discussion: Every day countless thousands of total strangers die for reasons entirely unknown to us in the First World nations. These people may never have the impact on the world that Stephen Jobs did but if you pray for them and follow God's lead in assisting them they YOU can make impact THEIR world in a way that they will never forget. They will be singing your praise (and hopefully the praise of God) for what you have done just as millions are now praising Stephen Jobs.

Get out there and do something! Lives are at stake that you can save!

June 2, 2011 ~ I've been reading Rich Stearns' book "The Hole in the Gospel." Here is some information from it and other sources: Did you know that if you can read this page you likely have more wealth, toys, clothing, FOOD and WATER than 90% of the rest of the world's population? Did you know that if you flushed a toilet today you have used more clean water than almost everyone else on the planet will see in their LIVES? Did you know that every few seconds SOMEONE DIES from hunger or the after effects of contaminated water? Did you know that it only costs pennies a day to help? Don't just pray pray for these people, put feet to your prayers; it is likely that God gave you what He gave you to see how you would use it to help others. Contact a humanitarian organization and see what you can do to help. My family highly recommends World Vision, here is their website: www.worldvision.org.

May 23, 2011 ~ The mid-west US and their recovery from the tornadoes that have devastated several communities.

March 11, 2011 ~ Those in Japan who are now dealing with chaos, devastation and tragedy.

January 12, 2011 ~ The family, friends & associates of Toronto Police Sgt. Ryan Russell who died today while protecting others from harm. "Greater love than this no man has, that he lay down his life for another;" John 15:13.

January 12, 2011 ~ The people of Haiti, many of whom still live in horrid conditions one year after the earthquake that killed 200,000 of their countrymen.

November 10, 2010 ~ Once again the persecution of a Christian for simply being a Christian is in the news, see this link for details:

Let us remember to pray, not only for this woman but the thousands around the world who are in similar situations. Also pray for those making, applying and enforcing such laws; that their hearts and minds may be changed, that they too may be saved. Also pray for us who live in countries where Christianity is "tolerated," that we will not take this gift for granted and that, when persecution does com, we will remain faithful.

October 23, 2010 ~ The people of Belleville, and surrounding area following the atrocities committed by Russell Williams and his subsequent arrest, testimony, conviction and sentencing.

June 23, 2010 ~ G20 and G8 start today in Toronto. Let's keep the participants, protesters, security forces and residents in prayer.

June 2, 2010 ~ What ever the reason for western military presence in the Middle East we should remember to pray for the soldiers (and their families) who are there risking their lives to improve the lives of total strangers.

May 13, 2010 ~ Pray that we as Christians will be able to exemplify Jesus Christ as the world around us becomes increasingly antagonistic toward God. Many Christian the world over are already experiencing hardship as a result of their love of God and it is becoming increasingly evident here in the West as well. The failure of society to adopt or maintain the trappings of our faith has never been a right but our reaction to this in a Christ-like way has always been expected of us by God. Remember to pray, not only for us who are facing increasing resistance but for those who already face this and far greater threat.

May 10, 2010 ~ Pray for those Christians in the Public Eye (including yourself)

May 4, 2010 ~ Muslim Extremists Execute a Somali Christian
