Colour

June barged in earlier this week

and colour is suddenly everywhere

crosswalks, flags, windows, clothes

it’s pretty, but, overwhelming

it cannot be got away from

it expands, each day more

in your face and forceful

until One Day when all celebrate

deliberately or accidentally, by proxy

our new and colourful national pride
