And Again

I feel

       ineffectual

unable to accomplish

that which I have been sent to do

am I alone

am I the only one

in whom  the reformer’s cry

       “Sola Scriptura”

resounds?

God’s words

untainted

by human hands

my words seem to fall

from my mouth

to dusty ground

yielding no crop

despite the water of my tears

how is it that I

who have served you all my years

am deserted and alone
