But, Why?
Jesus said this:
“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
we were gathered together we were of one accord we were asking for a miracle
which was not given
Jesus also said this:
“Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him. Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.”
we told that mountain to “Go!” we told our doubt to “Flee!” we were asking for a miracle
which was not given
the apostle Paul wrote:
“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”
we know this to be true we know that we are called we were asking for a miracle
which was not given
and now we may be tempted to wonder “But, why?”
forgetful that in all things whether great or small the glory of God is paramount
the apostle Paul also wrote
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
and now we may be encouraged to remember despite our tempted “Why?”s
that all things whether great or small are utterly and completely in God’s good hand
because Jesus, through Paul, has said
“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now. And not only this, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body.”
we can rest assured that all things whether great or small will pale in comparison to Him
