Chuckle

was your chuckle worth it

did you enjoy your smile

does its echo yet dance

the corners of your mouth

were the words you wrote

as funny as you had hoped

or do you regret them now

as I do (and did (and will))

sitting here in my lonely dark

of a mind to erase them all

every word I smiling wrote

the first I’ve known in weeks
