Don’t Presume to Tell Me

Don’t presume to tell me what I’ve done,

of your bruises you think are mine

Don’t presume to claim upon my soul

or lay your vast anger at my door

For I’ve not done what you say I’ve done

I have done things, many things, as evil

but I have not done that, of your blood

of the blood of your many dead brothers

I. Am. Innocent.

Do not presume to tell me otherwise

or be no better than your claim on me
