Glory!

Sunday morning, along the West Ridge Trails

intermittent sunlight flows golden, through boughs

of Aspen, Oak and Maple

reluctant to entirely shed their wonder

yet wonder crunches beneath my feet

sings beneath the footsteps of my pup

calls us both explore further, higher

we are, Chester and I,

wrapped in marvellous light

sparkling on the trunks of trees

glistening in the dew-damp leaves

leading us along resplendent footpath

rejoicing that the Giver of all good things

has given me this remarkable gift

yet one more blessing of His extravagance

Chester couldn't see the colours,

but he did enjoy the trails.
