Google Search Devotional

needing some inspiration

I typed

“random Bible verse of the day”

into Google this morning

and was given this

“But let all who take refuge in You be glad,

let them ever sing for joy

and may You shelter them,

that those who love Your name may exult in you.”

but it seemed hardly appropriate for the mood I was in

then I glanced down at the Bible in my lap

it had fallen open to this

“My soul clings to the dust;

revive me according to Your word.

I have told of my ways, and You have answered me;

teach me Your statutes.

Make me understand the way of Your precepts,

and I will meditate on Your wonders.

My soul weeps because of grief;

strengthen me according to Your word.

Remove the false way from me,

and graciously grant me Your Law.

I have chosen the faithful way;

I have placed Your judgments before me.

I cling to Your testimonies;

Lord, do not put me to shame!

I shall run the way of Your commandments,

for You will enlarge my heart.”

which I appreciated

for touching me where I needed it

later on, talking to my son about this

he said

“The first verse you were given was right after all,

God did make you glad.”
