I Wonder

I wonder what it's like, living in your mind

I know that, at times, my own is no joy

but yours, I don't know how you stand it

I couldn't, not with all that anger and hate

not with all that suspicion and paranoia

churning and swirling in chaotic pattern

it looks like you don't have any joy at all

none of the ample reassurances of our faith

and I don't know how you can stand at all

I couldn't, doubt, suspicion and uncertainty

all those worries about conspiracy and plot

it'd pile up, it’d put me down, it’d crush me

I can't imagine how you can stand it at all

standing all alone with your fears like that

I just know that I couldn't do it, not at all
