if this were a Star Trek episode

(TNG, not trusty old TOS)

someone’d be able to hack the TV device

connect us to some tower, some where

modify it in some how, in some way

make it into what it could never be

but this is not a Star Trek episode

(neither TNG nor trusty old TOS)

so I sit here at this cottage

not using high speed Internet

nor staring at the TV device

but at a rain dappled lake instead
