October 1986

in my soul lives death

so constant a companion

these days

where the leaf disturber

where the bouncing boy

could they all be hid

beneath the ladys cloak

scattered remnants

empty ruins

even for the tourists

closed

where once was a song

now lives a dirge

where once there was dance

there now is a march

these walls once full of life

and banners hanging down

now stand naked

shorn of all but form

slowly proceeding

to rubble
