on infinity’s edge I pause

upon the line dividing

forever from the abyss

naught holding me save

the difference between

travelling this verge, just denting

the depths below, scarce touching

the glory above, this plane

my course proscribes,

a single golden path

afloat between two realms apart

life proceeds its steady pace

paddle’s gentle dip and splash,

footstep’s daily walk,

to their harbour wend
