August 1986

Monday went like lightning

down the road and gone

Tuesday crawled like snails

its seconds ambling on

Wednesday, Thursday and the rest

the same old timeworn trail

I see it all the same

as men have seen before

time it goes and comes unsame

always on its way

and where does it go?
