Ode to a Snowplow Driver

the plow came by this morning

after the drive was all blown out

I’d passed it on my way back home

turned around to clean the windrow

he would have left behind, but

after his careful back-and-forthing

there wasn’t too much of one

I’d seen him push most of the snow

to the wayback of the dead-end

“Thank you, Mr. Snow Plow Driver!

You didn’t just give me a safer road,

you took the time to give me a better day!”
