I need to call in sick today

I just can’t do life any more

I’m drowning in the everyday

I don’t even want to fake it

I don’t want to handle traffic

I don’t want to drive this desk

I don’t want to answer emails

I don’t want to endure silence

yet here I am

at work

again

trying to be alive

just managing to breathe
