Snow

Drifting down

Through the air

Into the lane

And on to the yard

And stopping

When the stars come out

Brighter than ever

In a night

Darker than ever

Swirling at the feet

Shov’ling out the drive

Dusting into the face

Sweeping off the car

Glowing like marble

Thick on the lawn

As shadows cast by plows

Float across it

Departing like summer

To lands unseen
