something once I tried to grasp

an innocence not quite innocent

a naiveté not quite naive

a thing not quite what I am

refreshing for its newness

appealing for its...danger

flirting at the edge of the blade

I cannot hold it, it isn’t me

though from that one I may learn

and so live life better for my God
