Stan Lynn, a Remembrance

We talked about you this morning

Fred and I, in the parking lot

after worship was done with being church

had again become part of being alive

Fred said how a good trombone always

sounded better beside a good trumpet

we paused there, for a moment, thinking

how good your trumpet must be sounding now

and how glorious must be your smile

up there, jamming with God's angels

praising He whom you loved while you were with us

with neither tear nor pain to mute or hinder

what your Earthly form so longed to do
