as you weep for Coates and the Pawlowskis

I think I could respect you

as you decry those who could do such things

I think I could take your stand

as you hold the Church to its high office

I think I could be confused

as you disassociate from disagreement

I think I could be condemned

and you’d not shed a tear for my loss
