you think it but a trivial thing

a whimsical flight of fancy free

unconcerning, so small a matter

the soul could not be touched

by this little fun your body loves

yet

what you think trivial has forgot

desire follows close on fancy’s lead

each small matter of vast concern

to the soul within the wayward shell

chasing pleasure’s phantom joys
