Disappointment & Disillusionment

this from Fox News:

“Outside the Harris victory party,

which never turned celebratory,

a disappointed attendee

left an American flag on the ground.”

and that pretty much sums it up

if you cannot respect the flag

how can you respect its process

but if by leaving it on the ground

you symbolize America’s demise

know this

your loss isn’t democracy’s failure

your loss is democracy’s strength

this is as non-partisan as I can be.

I cared not for Trump/Vance

nor for Harris/Walz

(shoot, I’m a Canadian who doesn’t,

even here, know who’s fit to lead)

a flag would have been dropped

regardless whose the victory

that is democracy’s strength

the constant pendulum swing

from extreme to extreme

it isn’t the best system

but it’s better than many
