Freedom!

lost

this water, it is so cold

it is unbearable

I cannot breathe

this chain, it is so tight

it is unyielding

I cannot rise

this dark, it is so heavy

it is unendurable

I cannot see

this pain, oh! this pain

this unrelenting gloom

such a dreadful hopelessness

found

this Light, it is so bright

it is overwhelming

at last, I can see!

this freedom, it is so great

it is overcoming

at last, I can fly!

this fountain, it is so clean

it is overflowing

at last, I can Live!

this joy, oh! this joy

this recreated Life

such a wonderful redemption
