as soon as you texted me, I knew

I’d miss the Purolator truck today

actually, knew a few minutes before

when Beth phoned me back home

(it seems the Bell guy wanted help

finding a new route for a new cable)

anyway, I wasn’t so very surprised

to see the attempted delivery notice

this morning had just been like that

what I was surprised by though

was that Purolator wouldn’t even try

calling a driver just down the road

and ask to try delivery again, today

instead of the rescheduled tomorrow
