I am relaxing on my new deck

a quiet Sunday morning

after too many active other hours

this deck is not really new

it is new only to me

as is the roar of a neighbour's mower

the dance of the breeze with a Maple

and the song of the back-neighbour's chime

Beth tells me that there are Cicadas here

and Crickets too

though my Tinnitus has a louder song

it's comforting to know they're there

I’ve always enjoyed hearing them in my parent’s yard

I am scatter brained

we have been moving for too many months

this quiet, noisy morning

it is helping
