Mirrors

some will say, on seeing the stars

having man's understanding, that

we're not worth consideration

we're accidents on a tiny planet

orbiting a rather insignificant star

sitting quietly in some dark corner

of a galaxy neither large nor grand

we're no more than inconsequential

yet the Book shows these very stars

were little more than an afterthought

some little trinkets that God just made

as though to make a void already lovely

astoundingly more reflective of His glory

as though the Earth and Sun and Moon

as glorious as they are, were insufficient

to cause all mankind praise Him

“… and God also made the stars …”
