it’s kind of funny

in a tear-stained cheek

gasping for breath

kind of a way

that the world reduces to

“Right-wing Extremists”

we who walk the narrow way

simply by our not moving

as this world wishes

and my laughter weeps

not for abuses come

or the greater coming

nor that is ridiculed

the work that saved my life

but that these my fellows

have forsaken hope
