Across the Sea …

I wish that I for Inverness

could sail upon the seas

rise upon their rolling crests

before a careless breeze

Or Shangri-La or fair Barkut

those romantic lands of lore

Enough for me to pick up root

and sail for distant shore

Leave astern my sleepless bed

shake the dreary dust of home

from restless feet and bravely tread

paths on which adventures roam

Yet often as the seas may roll

with calls to distant glory

I wonder if lives there a soul

who dreams a different story
