Across the Sea …

I wish that I for Inverness

could sail upon the seas

and rise upon their rolling crests

before a careless breeze

Or Shangri-La or fair Barkut

those romantic lands of lore

Enough for me to pick up roots

and sail for distant shores

Leave astern my tired bed

shake the dust of dreary home

from restless feet and bravely tread

the paths on which adventures roam

Yet often as this dream may roll

with calls to distant glory

I will wonder if lives there a soul

who dreams a different story
