God’s love, it is

fierce

merciful

relentless

unchanging

but one thing God’s love is not

it is not reckless

for God

our great and infinite and holy God

He is profoundly generous

He is never, ever, reckless

and we

His imperfect yet highly loved creation

we do Him a grave injustice

as we sing of His reckless love

for though His love is vast

is infinite

is extravagant

is astoundingly lavish

it is never, ever, reckless

reckless is what we are

it is not ever anything that He is

He could never be reckless
