Today!

Today is the  first day of the rest of our lives

it has been said and is true that time may

span long onward from this daily prospect

this lookout where our hopes and dreams

are welcomed by what has become reality

this place where tomorrow’s opportunity

is glad-handed by today’s occurrences

and hope can spring eternal despite what is

yet too undeniable is the certain truth

that today is the last day of our lives
