What Great Things!

I used to think I didn’t have a story

I could tell without boring to tears

all who took the trouble to hear me

but I was younger then

I am not so young now

am old enough to learn

(how blind I was

even now

how little I see)

like the Gerasene demoniac

I, too, have a tremendous story to tell

I, too, can speak of great and wonderful things

that I am here at all today

fully knowing yesterday’s dark

beyond any doubt I am here by God

that I now stand

where once I longed to fall

oh! what a great thing God has done for me!
