You’re [Not] Alone

I’ve seen it said

often

(I tend to visit a lot

I mean, a LOT

of these websites)

by well-meaning strangers

“If you’re going through a dark time,

remember,

you’re not alone.”

which, nice as it is,

may or may not be true

(I have my own opinions

on their truth or lack)

every time I see it

I wonder

“How do they know

I’m not alone?”

but

even if I’m not alone

when I go through dark times

if I call out for help

and they’re dismissive

I might as well be
