Explosion on Coming Home

there, thats done, after another gruelling hour in traffic

(seems to be worse with every day gone by)

savouring the peace and tranquility of my own driveway

for hardly a measurable moment of time

the engine barely stopped

when around the corner of the house an explosion of life

hats, safari jackets, and journals full of the days adventure

surrounding my vehicle as a newly captured trophy

a tentative opening of the door and distracted

they claim their own a new prize

with such a welcome home Id go to work any day
