wandering a lifetime's corridors

searching for a room with hope

pausing by scattered images

Out in the First Morning

Leave the Doorway Open

and others

suddenly arrested by one

Little Stella, Again

pinkness and joy and LIFE

amid tubes and pumps and fear

remembering rejoicing smiles

several years later, in Chapters

reminded of another one

of joyous reunion in a dining hall

after hours of tearful prayer

God is truly good

God is truly faithful

His love, His mercy

are altogether unfathomable

one moment's grief

cannot dispel

another moment's joy

He is God

He is God in our joy

He is God in our grief

it is His Hand that gives

it is His Hand that holds

we may weep, unrelieved

but for a moment

we may smile, unexpected

but for a moment

He is God forever

He is God in our tears

He is God in our smiles

our faith, our hope, our joy

are sure when rest on Him

doubts and fears may assault

His hand is sure, He will not fail

He is God

He is God alone

all that is exists for Him

our grief, our joy are His

are to His honour and to His glory

nothing else matters
